This programme is available in conjunction with our Spanish Spanish course, which takes place from Monday to Friday from 09.30 - 13.00. The Surfing lessons are one hour per day from Monday to Friday. All materials are provided (board, wetsuit, insurance)

Course description

Take advantage of San Sebastian's beautiful beaches and surf with our Surfing Course!! Monday to Friday, with 1 hour daily lessons under the instruction of an expert. The classes begin at 15:30 We cover some dry land theory followed by initiation to the water. What should you bring? A bathing suit, towel, bottle of water, and some soap and shampoo if you want to shower afterwards. There are a maximum of 6 students in the surfing component of this programme.

About the school

In the centre of San Sebastian our new premises were opened in July 2000 and have been designed to make it easy to communicate and learn Spanish in a pleasant atmosphere. We have a terrace, communal area with a library and multimedia computers, air conditioning, high-fidelity sound, video. We are open from 8.30 a.m. till 8.00 p.m.

Things to do after lessons

We run an interesting social and cultural programme at our centre for all ages: "intercambio" parties, talks and lectures, videos, international meals, visits to the local radio station, exhibitions and much more. For the culture-lover, the Casas de Cultura organise concerts, theatre and different courses and talks. For the sporty, why not attend our partner SURF SCHOOL. Learn to surf on one of our most beautiful beaches and get at certificate to say you did it! If you prefer more gentle hiking and outward bound activities, skiing, climbing, the BASQUE CAMPING AND MOUNTAIN CLUB can give you some pointers.

For the surfing component of the course, all materials are provided (board, wetsuit, insurance) Accommodation is not offered as part of the cost of the course but may be added as an option when you enrol online.

Date notes

Courses will not take place on public holidays and you will not be compensated for the lessons lost. Tuition usually starts on Mondays unless it is a bank holiday. Please check local public holidays.

  • Private apartment self catering

    You can rent an entire apartment for yourself but the process can take two months so enrol early for this option.Prices include general expenses (gas, electricity, community, local taxes) at normal consumption levels. All apartments include, unless stated otherwise: cooking facilities, dishes, forks, pans and frying pans, etc…blankets, bed linen, …. But not always towels, fridge, washing machine and oven! Our apartments do not usually have telephone, toasters, electric coffee machine, microwave oven or a vacuum cleaner. They will be furnished to a comfortable, basic standard. Prices vary according to time of year.
